Pro Tools Tutorial
Doodlea Premium unlocks six advanced tools. Here is what each one does, how to use it, and a tip to get the best results.
Pattern Fill
PremiumFills a closed area with a repeating texture instead of a flat colour.
- 1Select the Pattern tool from the toolbar.
- 2Choose a pattern style (dots, stripes, checks, etc.) in the picker that appears.
- 3Tap any enclosed region to fill it with your chosen pattern in the current colour.
Tip: Great for fabrics, skies, water and any area that looks better with a little texture than a flat block of colour.
Gradient Fill
PremiumLays down a smooth two-colour blend across a region.
- 1Pick the Gradient tool.
- 2Set your start and end colours from the palette.
- 3Tap and drag across the area to set the direction and length of the blend.
Tip: Drag short for a tight transition, long for a slow fade. Perfect for sunsets, skies and shading round shapes.
Glitter
PremiumAdds a sparkling glitter effect over your colour, with adjustable density and style.
- 1Select the Glitter tool.
- 2Pick a glitter style (classic, fine, chunky) and adjust the density slider.
- 3Brush or tap where you want the sparkle to appear.
Tip: Use a light touch — a little glitter on highlights (crowns, stars, jewellery) pops more than covering everything.
Magic Wand
PremiumIntelligently fills a tricky enclosed area, reaching corners the regular bucket can miss.
- 1Choose the Magic tool and set a brush size.
- 2Tap inside the region you want filled.
- 3The wand spreads the current colour through the connected area automatically.
Tip: Best for small, fiddly shapes and gaps between lines. If it overflows, undo and tap closer to the centre of the area.
Eyedropper (Pick)
PremiumSamples an existing colour from your canvas so you can reuse it instantly.
- 1Select the Pick tool.
- 2Tap anywhere on the canvas to grab that pixel's colour.
- 3Your active colour updates — switch to any tool and keep colouring with it.
Tip: Perfect for matching a colour you already used without hunting through the palette, or for sampling a shade from the design itself.
Symmetry Mode
PremiumMirrors your brush strokes across the canvas so both sides stay perfectly balanced.
- 1Toggle the Symmetry button on the toolbar.
- 2Draw or paint as normal — every stroke is mirrored automatically.
- 3Toggle it off again to work on one side only.
Tip: Ideal for mandalas, butterflies, faces and any design that should stay symmetrical. Works with the brush and most Pro tools.
